The Institute of Agricultural Genetic Engineering Research latest specialized institutes Agricultural Research Center, which began in 1990 as a project funded by the UNDP United Nations UNDP in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture, has been converted into this project in 1992 to a national institute specializing in the field of agricultural genetic engineering as institutes Research CenterAgricultural contributes to the transfer of technology of genetic engineering of plants advanced industrial countries to our labs Egyptian, and in adapting these new technologies to suit the needs in the field of agricultural development in Egypt, which in this context interested in research and training and raising the efficiency of agricultural produce.

Its objectives include: Development of the agricultural research programs aiming at finding solutions to some of the most pressing problems; Facilitating molecular biology laboratories with the latest laboratory equipment for gene manipulation and genomic analysis; Promoting scientists in different disciplines for joining the scientific research in the field of agricultural biotechnology; Enhancement of the most important economic crops products using gene transfer technology in order to develop resistance crops to biotic and abiotic stress and climate change; Establishing the basic rules to maintain the intellectual property in the field of biotechnology; In cooperation with the private sector for products services using biotechnology techniques on the domestic and international level; Genetic mapping analysis for different Egyptian cultivars using molecular markers techniques; Facilitating training courses to the Egyptian and foreigners in the field of agricultural biotechnology in different disciplines through well educated academic stuff.
