The Open Government Portal offers open datasets about Government of Canada services, financials, national demographic information and high resolution maps. Through the Open Government Portal, the user can explore the Government of Canada's geospatial data, services, and applications and create customized maps. Also the portal offers training material on how to use a variety of data formats including application programming interfaces (APIs) and in addition to that it allows the user to browse and download apps that were built both by the Canadian public and the Government of Canada that use open data. Finally the portal encourages the visitor to suggest datasets that maybe of interest for the portal but also to submit any application that may have been developed using Government of Canada open data or open information.
