The history of the Federal Institute of Amapá (Ifap) begins on October 25, 2007, with the creation of the Federal Technical School of Amapá (Etfap), instituted by Law 11,534. On November 13, 2007, MEC Ordinance No. 1066 assigned to the Federal Center for Technological Education of Pará (Cefet / PA) the task of implementing Etfap. In order to take over the local articulations and make feasible the implementation of the then Federal Technical School of Amapá, Portaria MEC nº 1199, of December 12, 2007, appoints professor Emanuel Alves de Moura to hold the position of General Director. On December 29, 2008, Law No. 11,892, which established the Federal Network of Professional, Scientific and Technological Education, transformed Etfap into the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Amapá (Ifap) - a municipality linked to the Ministry of Education, Of administrative, patrimonial, financial, didactic-pedagogical and disciplinary autonomy, assimilated to the federal universities. Continuing the implementation process, Professor Emanuel Alves de Moura is appointed Dean Pro-Tempore , by Ordinance MEC 021/2009, January 7, 2009.
