IRSTEA (previously known as CEMAGREF) is a French public research institute devoted to agricultural and environmental engineering. It is split in three departments covering water and land management, and agricultural issues. Among them, the “Ecotechnologies” Department is involved in technological developments for sustainable agricultural systems. The ITAP (Information and Technology for Agro Processes), located in Montpellier, is a joint laboratory with AgroM, the French Faculty of Agronomy, which is a world-wide leader in viticulture.
