The Instituto de Tecnologia Química e Biológica (ITQB) is a research and advanced training institute of the Universidade Nova de Lisboa, UNL. Its mission is to develop fundamental research in chemistry and the life sciences, and to explore potential research applications. The Laboratory of Plant Molecular Ecophysiology (LEM) at ITQB develops research in plant eco- physiology and molecular physiology in crops (namely grapevine) in relation to environmental constraints.
